Apart from my own studies, I hold different positions at the University of Göttingen. From February 2016 to February 2018, I was the representative of the student body at the Slavic department. My tasks included organizing monthly student gatherings in a bar (called “Stammtisch”), hosting parties (summer party & Christmas party), introducing the new students to university life each October (called “Orientierungsphase”), managing our student seminar budget as well as representing the student body in the Executive Board. Being a board member, I was entitled to vote in all matters concerning our seminar. Some of them are staffing and the selection of applicants for our Master of Arts’ program. One gets elected in the university elections in January for one year (February until February). In January 2017, I got elected for a second term and executed all the tasks listed above until February 2018.
Moreover, I administrate our department’s Facebook page and was offered a student assistant job for my work in the public relations from October 2016 to February 2017. Our main goal is to make our department easier accessible and more visible for prospective applicants.
In addition to these two jobs, I became student mentor for the Slavic department in May 2017. Providing a weekly consultation hour, I counsel and help students with any questions regarding the study programs “Slavic philology” and “Russian (teaching profession).”
